Why use a grain dryer

2019-11-22

The traditional sun exposure method is to spread the rice on the sunbathing field, and use the sun exposure and manual artificial turning in order to dry it uniformly. However, the drying period is extremely susceptible to the weather. If the harvest is in a continuous sunny day under high temperature, The rice may be cracked due to too fast drying. If it is rainy, it is difficult to dry in time. The temperature in the second phase of harvesting is low. Although there is no concern about drying too fast, the drying time is too long, takes time and labor, and is easy. It is mixed with sand and gravel, so the quality cannot be controlled stably and effectively. Compared with the dryer, in addition to avoiding the influence of weather, it also has time-saving, labor-saving and cleaning effects. It can reasonably adjust the drying speed and make the quality easier to control. Therefore, as long as the grain dryer is used correctly, high-quality paddy.

The purpose of drying is to uniformly remove the water inside the grain. Due to the dense texture of the grain, it is difficult to transfer the moisture in liquid form. Generally, the moisture on the surface of the rice husk is first evaporated and then taken away by the dry air. During the drying process, the water on the surface of the grain is first evaporated, which causes the surface water content to decrease, but the water content in the central part of the grain is still high, so the central part of the water gradually diffuses outward. This diffusion phenomenon is similar to the surface water The type of partial evaporation is different, and its diffusion rate is very slow, especially at the end of the drying period. This phenomenon is more obvious.

There is also a degree of difference in dry air, which is usually expressed as "humidity." Dry air with no moisture at all has zero humidity; when dry air absorbs water to the point where it can no longer absorb water, its humidity is particularly high, which is called "saturation", so the lower the humidity, the drier the air, that is, More drying ability. In addition, when the air is heated, it will expand due to heat, reduce specific gravity, reduce humidity, and increase drying capacity.
